Randy Nelson

Randy is a Minnesota native and as such is used to driving in rain, sleet, hail and snow. He has served honorably on the US Army Bomb Squad and in the Army's Special Operations Forces. He is a currently licensed High School Teacher who has volunteered for years as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Firefighter. Randy has been driving emergency vehicles for more than 8 years and is qualified to drive all fire and rescue vehicles.

Randy has been storm chasing for about a decade. He has been a Skywarn spotter since 2003 and a Skywarn Instructor since 2008. As a tour guide with another company for three years, he has safely brought guests over wind swept streets and hail covered roads to the edge of countless severe storms and tornadoes. Randy’s donates his photos and video to the National Weather Service and his storm images can be found throughout Skywarn training materials. Randy's storm chasing work has been also featured on several television programs including Inside Edition and Nightline.
